On Friday May 30th I went to The Cheltenham Town Hall to see STEVE HARLEY in concert with his new COCKNEY REBEL band. During the show Steve kept referring to it as "like Playing at a Jewish Wedding", this was due to the seating arrangement which was Cabaret style, and therefore people had their backs to the stage. Throughout the show he kept cracking various jokes, some of which were at the audiences expense. One of these jokes was that the Mothers and Fathers in the audience had only bought their children with them because it was cheaper than paying for a Babysitter.

They played all the old hits like JUDY TEEN, MR. SOFT and MAKE ME SMILE (COME UP AND SEE ME). One of the songs they performed, TUMBLING DOWN has become my favorite STEVE HARLEY song.

After the show, I went backstage to have a chat with him and got him to autograph the "Poetic Justice" CD (pictured above) that I had purchased in the interval.

On the back of the show I started to collect his CD's, one of which "Face to Face" always reminds me of the concert.
